First presented in 1977, Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards are presented to honor women in communications and media.[1] The awards include the Crystal Award, the Lucy Award, the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award, the MaxMara Face of the Future Award, and the Kodak Vision Award. The latest awards were handed out on June 16, 2011, to actresses Annette Bening and Katie Holmes, director Pamela Fryman, and cinematographer Reed Morano.[2]
Crystal award
The Crystal Award was established in 1977 to honor outstanding women who, through their endurance and the excellence of their work, have helped to expand the role of women within the entertainment industry.

Lucy award
The Lucy Award for Innovation in Television was founded in 1994 by Joanna Kerns, Bonny Dore, and Loreen Arbus and is presented in association with the Lucille Ball Estate. It was named to pay tribute to Lucille Ball.It is given to recognize women and men and their creative works that have enhanced the perception of women through the medium of television.[3]

Dorothy Arzner Directors award
Dorothy Arzner was the first woman member of the Directors Guild of America. This award was established in her honor to recognize the important role women directors play in both film and television.
